Bandipora, June 25, 2026: As part of the pre-deployment preparedness measures for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, a comprehensive multi-agency security mock drill was successfully conducted today at the Yatra Transit Camp, Shadipora, Sumbal, in District Bandipora.The exercise witnessed active participation from the Jammu and Kashmir Police,the Army (24 Rashtriya Rifles),the CRPF (45 Battalion),the SSB,the SDRF,the Fire & Emergency Services, and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS).

The mock drill simulated multiple security contingencies, including a terrorist attack on the Yatra camp, a hostile drone intrusion, and the detection of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) during a Road Opening Party (ROP). All simulated scenarios were responded to swiftly and effectively through coordinated action by the participating agencies, resulting in the successful neutralisation of threats, the safe evacuation of civilians, and strict adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The exercise demonstrated a high degree of operational preparedness, rapid response capability, and seamless inter-agency coordination among the security forces. It also served as an effective platform to assess existing response mechanisms and further strengthen communication channels, medical evacuation procedures, and overall contingency management, particularly during nighttime operations.

The successful conduct of the mock drill reflects the collective commitment, vigilance, and preparedness of all stakeholder agencies towards ensuring a safe, secure, and incident-free Shri. Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026. Such exercises form an integral part of the security framework and significantly enhance the ability of participating agencies to respond effectively to any emergent situation during the Yatra.
