Mumbai, September 29: Indian equity markets ended lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Sensex and Nifty extending their decline amid pressure from higher crude oil prices and rising US bond yields.
The Nifty 50 fell 0.28 per cent to close at 24,611.40, while the BSE Sensex declined 0.33 per cent to settle at 80,186.23. The decline reflected continued pressure on domestic equities amid developments in global markets.
Higher crude oil prices remained a concern for investors, particularly because India imports a large share of its crude oil requirements. Rising US bond yields also weighed on market sentiment by influencing global capital flows and expectations around interest rates.
