Srinagar, September 30: A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist identified by officials as Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa was killed in an encounter with security forces in the Yousmarg area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The encounter took place during a joint operation by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force in the Korag area.
According to officials, security forces detected suspicious movement and challenged the suspected terrorists, following which they opened fire.
The exchange of fire resulted in the killing of one terrorist. Security forces later recovered the body of Moosa along with war-like stores from the operation area.
Officials said Moosa was wanted in connection with several attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. The search operation in the area continued after the encounter.
