Amritsar, September 30: Punjab Police arrested eight people in two separate operations in Amritsar and recovered assault rifles, pistols, ammunition and heroin, police said.
According to police, one of the operations led to the recovery of AK-47 and AK-56 rifles, along with 10 kg of heroin. The second operation resulted in the seizure of firearms and ammunition and the arrest of additional suspects.
Police said cases have been registered and further investigation is underway to establish the source of the weapons and drugs and identify other persons linked to the network.
