Dubai, September 30: A Flydubai flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv was diverted to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday after an incident on board, with reports indicating an altercation between the pilots.
Flight FZ1073, operating from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion Airport, transmitted emergency signals while en route before diverting to Tabuk in northwestern Saudi Arabia. The aircraft landed safely at Tabuk Airport, and all passengers were reported safe and accounted for.
The emergency signals, including one indicating possible unlawful interference, initially raised concerns of a possible hijacking and prompted a security response. Israeli officials later said the incident was not a hijacking and was apparently linked to an altercation on board.
Flydubai confirmed that the aircraft had experienced an incident during the flight and said it was working with the relevant authorities. Further details about the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
