Hyderabad, India, May 29: A major fire broke out on Friday inside the godown of a commercial building located on Masab Tank main road in Hyderabad, prompting a swift emergency response. Thick plumes of smoke were seen billowing from the structure as three firefighting vehicles were deployed to contain the blaze.
Teams from the local police and the Disaster Response Force (DRF) also reached the site to assist with evacuation and crowd control. Officials said the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and further details are awaited as firefighting operations continue.
This incident comes just weeks after a similar fire accident was reported on May 14 at a furniture shop in Hyderabad’s Hayathnagar area, triggering panic among residents. Fire officials had rushed two engines to the spot and managed to control the flames after a prolonged effort.
Preliminary findings in the Hayathnagar case indicated that an electrical short circuit may have sparked the fire, though authorities noted that a detailed inspection is required to confirm the cause. An assessment of the total property damage from both incidents is still underway.
