Gurez, May 28: Gurez Police caught a man near Markoot Bridge of Gurez Valley in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district with 15 bottles of liquor. The accused has been identified as Sameerullah Mapnoo, a resident of Nayibasti Kanzalwan, Gurez.
Police registered FIR No. 03/2026 under Section 48 of the Excise Act at Police Station Dawar and started an investigation into the case.
The action has been appreciated by local residents, who praised the police, especially SHO Gurez and his team, for taking steps against liquor and other illegal substances in the area. People said such action will help keep Gurez peaceful and protect the youth from harmful activities.
