Secunderabad, June 30: Telangana Police conducted a community contact programme along with a cordon and search operation in the Mangaru Basti and Addagutta areas under the jurisdiction of Lallaguda Police Station in Secunderabad.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Rakshitha Krishnamurthy. Additional DCP Narsaiah, ACP Chilkalguda Shashank Reddy, ACP Gandhinagar Yadagiri, ACP Mahankali Sridhar, and Lallaguda Police Station Inspector T. Ashok Kumar participated in the drive along with around 150 police personnel, the Clues Team and Traffic Police staff.
According to police, 24 vehicles lacking valid documents or found under suspicious circumstances were seized during the operation. Fifteen liquor bottles allegedly stored in violation of rules were also confiscated.
Police verified and counselled five rowdy sheeters and ten other suspects as part of the exercise.
During the programme, DCP Rakshitha Krishnamurthy interacted with residents of Mangaru Basti and Addagutta to understand their grievances and security concerns. She urged residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities to the police and install CCTV cameras to strengthen community safety.
Police said the initiative aimed to enhance public interaction, address local concerns and improve security in the area.
Earlier, North Delhi Police had conducted a cordon and search operation on May 23 at Milan Vihar Pushta Road under the jurisdiction of Wazirabad Police Station following complaints from residents about dark stretches along the road and alleged criminal activities in the area.
During that operation, security personnel sealed entry and exit points to conduct checks on individuals and vehicles, besides carrying out searches for illegal arms, narcotics and cases of public drinking. The operation was aimed at addressing criminal activities and improving public safety.
