Srinagar, July 30: The Drug Control Organisation on Thursday inspected 22 retail drug establishments across Srinagar as part of the ongoing enforcement drive under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
According to officials, the inspections were conducted on the directions of the State Drugs Controller (SDC) to continue the campaign following the completion of the first 100 days of the initiative.
A joint team of Drug Control Officers from the Headquarters, Zone-I and Zone-II, under the supervision of the Assistant Drugs Controller, Srinagar, carried out inspections of retail drug establishments in both zones on July 30.
During the drive, seven drug samples were collected for laboratory analysis. The operation of M/s Aleena Medicate, located near Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Hospital (JLNM) in Rainawari, was suspended for one day after inspectors found that a qualified person was not present at the establishment, as required under the applicable regulations.
Officials said the inspections are part of the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen regulatory compliance, monitor the sale of medicines, and prevent their misuse and illegal distribution under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
