Jammu, September 3: The Ministry of Railways has approved an experimental stoppage of the Jammu Tawi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express at Anantnag railway station.
According to a Railway Board order, train numbers 26401 and 26402 will halt at Anantnag with effect from an early convenient date, subject to the required security clearance.
The Railway Board has directed Northern Railway to monitor ticket sales at Anantnag station for a review of the arrangement. It has also asked the railway authorities to give wide publicity to the stoppage and ensure compliance with the order.
The halt will provide passengers from south Kashmir with direct rail connectivity to Jammu and Srinagar through the Vande Bharat service.
