Aichi-Nagoya, September 21: India won a silver medal in the men’s 10m air rifle team event at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya on Monday, with Rudrankksh Patil, Parth Mane and Himanshu Dhillon combining for a score of 1890.1.
China won the gold medal with 1899.0 points, while South Korea secured the bronze with 1841.4 points.
The medal is India’s third at the Asian Games, with all three coming in shooting.
In the individual qualification round, which also determined the team event standings, Rudrankksh Patil finished third with 631.8 points, while Himanshu Dhillon placed seventh with 630.0. Parth Mane finished 11th with 628.3. Rudrankksh and Himanshu also qualified for the individual final scheduled later in the day.
Rudrankksh recorded 104.2 in his opening series and improved to 210.2, 315.9, 421.6 and 527.1 after the next five series before finishing with 631.8.
Parth scored 104.5 in his first series and followed it with 208.2, 312.9, 417.9 and 521.6 before completing the qualification with 628.3.
Himanshu started with 105.3 and recorded 209.9, 314.7, 421.0 and 525.6 in the following series before finishing with 630.0.
Earlier on Sunday, India also secured two silver medals in the women’s 10m air rifle events. Elavenil Valarivan won silver in the individual event, while Valarivan, Sonam Uttam Maskar and Vidarsa Kochalumkal Vinod won silver in the team event.
