Jammu/Srinagar, June 30: BJP spokespersons Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia, Zorawar Singh Jamwal and Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu on Tuesday sought a CBI investigation into the alleged outsourcing of around 25,000 government jobs by the National Conference-led government in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a press conference, the BJP leaders alleged that the government had failed to fulfil its election promise of providing employment opportunities to the youth and had instead resorted to outsourcing government jobs through contractors. They claimed that the process had bypassed regular recruitment agencies, including the Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB), thereby affecting transparency in appointments.

Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia alleged that the present recruitment process reflected earlier instances of backdoor appointments in the erstwhile state. He also raised concerns regarding employment claims by doctors who had returned from Gulf countries, stating that those who continued to serve in Jammu and Kashmir during difficult periods should not be overlooked in the recruitment process.

Zorawar Singh Jamwal termed the outsourcing of government jobs a recruitment scam and alleged that the move had denied eligible candidates an opportunity to compete through established recruitment mechanisms. He said that government vacancies should be filled through regular recruitment agencies to ensure equal opportunities for all applicants.

Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu said that many families invest considerable resources in educating their children and expect recruitment to be conducted on the basis of merit. He stated that the BJP would continue to raise the issue and support the demands of unemployed youth.

The BJP leaders demanded the withdrawal of the outsourcing policy and called for a CBI inquiry into the appointments made under the process. They also sought a review of all such appointments and urged the government to ensure that future recruitment is conducted through transparent and merit-based procedures.

The party leaders appealed to the government to expand regular employment opportunities and ensure fair recruitment processes for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
