Philadelphia, June 20: Brazil secured their first victory of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with a 3-0 win over Haiti in a Group C match played in Philadelphia on Saturday.

After drawing 1-1 with Morocco in their opening fixture, Brazil responded with a controlled performance to move to the top of the group on goal difference.

Brazil created several early chances and had a goal from Raphinha ruled out for offside before taking the lead midway through the first half. Matheus Cunha converted from close range after Haiti goalkeeper Johny Placide parried an effort from Vinicius Junior.

Cunha added a second goal soon after, finishing from a pass by Vinicius. The Brazilian forward then scored the third before halftime, running onto a through ball and finishing past Placide.

Haiti attempted to reduce the deficit after the break and came close through Ricardo Ade, whose header was saved by goalkeeper Alisson Becker. Brazil later had a fourth goal ruled out for offside after Endrick found the net.

The result takes Brazil to four points from two matches, level with Morocco but ahead on goal difference. Haiti’s defeat confirmed their elimination from the tournament, while Brazil remain on course to reach the Round of 32.
