Srinagar, Kashmir, July 2: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of the Crime Branch Jammu and Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against four individuals for allegedly securing government jobs in the Health Department by using forged educational certificates.
The chargesheet in FIR No. 16/2014, registered under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), was presented before the Court of the Forest Magistrate, Srinagar.
The accused have been identified as Shuja Jeelani of Pamposh Colony, Chanapora, Srinagar; Mohd Iqbal of Umer Colony, Lal Nagar, Chanapora, Srinagar; Nisar Ahmad Wani of Malwari, Pulwama; and Riyaz Ahmad Shah of Midoora, Awantipora, Pulwama.
According to the Crime Branch, the case was registered following allegations that the accused had obtained appointments to various posts in the Health Department after being selected through the Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) on the basis of forged educational certificates.
During the investigation, the Economic Offences Wing examined the educational documents submitted by the accused during the recruitment process. Verification conducted with the concerned authorities found that the certificates and related documents were forged and did not correspond with official records.
Following the verification, the appointments of the accused were cancelled.The investigation concluded that the accused had secured government employment by submitting forged documents, resulting in offences punishable under the relevant provisions of law. After completing the investigation and collecting the required evidence, the Economic Offences Wing filed the chargesheet before the competent court for judicial proceedings.
The Crime Branch has also appealed to the public to report cases involving economic offences to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Kashmir, or through the wing’s official email.
