Tehran: Iran has accused the United States of trying to gather international support for possible action against Tehran through a draft United Nations Security Council resolution on the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials warned that countries supporting the resolution would also be responsible for any future escalation in the region.
The draft resolution, backed by the US and several Gulf nations, calls on Iran to stop threats to commercial shipping and ensure free navigation through the strategic waterway. Iran, however, described the proposal as “one-sided” and politically motivated.
Tensions around the Strait of Hormuz have increased in recent weeks amid growing regional conflict and international concern over global oil supplies and maritime security.
