New Delhi, June 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi, bringing together Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors, Union Ministers, and senior policymakers to deliberate on India’s development roadmap.
The high-level meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of various States and Union Territories, Lieutenant Governors and Administrators of Union Territories, Union Ministers serving as ex-officio members of the council, and senior officials of NITI Aayog, including its Vice Chairman, members, and Chief Executive Officer.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were among the senior Union Ministers present. Several Chief Ministers, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, also participated in the deliberations.
The meeting was held under the theme “Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat 2047”, highlighting the government’s commitment to ensuring equitable growth and improving the quality of life for all citizens, irrespective of age, gender, region, or socio-economic background.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi is expected to discuss strategies aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, enhancing skill development, and generating sustainable employment opportunities across the country.
According to NITI Aayog, the Inclusive Human Development Framework is built on four key pillars: foundational human capital and future-ready skills, productive employment and entrepreneurship, health and well-being, and ensuring equity and dignity for all citizens.
The discussions are also focused on formulating an implementation roadmap supported by governance reforms, Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), convergence of schemes, strategic partnerships, and data-driven systems. Emphasis is being placed on aligning state-level development visions with the national objective of achieving inclusive and sustainable growth by 2047.
The Governing Council also reviewed recommendations emerging from the 5th National Conference of Chief Secretaries held in December 2025. The recommendations centred on five priority sectors: early childhood education, school education, skill development, higher education, and sports and extracurricular activities, aimed at strengthening human capital and preparing India’s workforce for future challenges.
The meeting is expected to play a significant role in shaping collaborative policy initiatives between the Centre and States as India advances toward its vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
