New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the recent increase in petrol and diesel prices. He said the fuel price hike shows that the government is making ordinary citizens “pay the price for its mistakes” and poor economic policies.
Rahul Gandhi claimed that rising fuel rates would further increase inflation and make daily life more difficult for common people. He said the burden of higher prices is directly affecting household budgets, transport costs, and essential goods.
The Congress leader also accused the central government of failing to control inflation and ignoring the struggles of middle-class and poor families. He urged the government to provide relief to the public instead of increasing financial pressure.
The remarks come amid growing political debate over fuel prices and the rising cost of living across the country.
