latest NewsDU Opens UG Admissions, Asks CBSE Students Awaiting Revised Results to Use Pre-Evaluation Marks

New Delhi, June 27: The University of Delhi (DU) has commenced the first phase of undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session, while nearly 20,000 CBSE Class 12 students who applied for re-evaluation are still awaiting their revised results.

To facilitate the admission process for such candidates, the university has advised students to enter their pre-evaluation Class 12 marks while registering on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal. The marks can be updated once the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declares the revised results.

DU Dean of Admissions Haneet Gandhi said that students awaiting revised scores need not be concerned, as the CSAS portal will remain open for several weeks, allowing sufficient time for updates.

She said students who have applied for re-evaluation but have not yet received their revised scores should use their existing Class 12 marks during registration and revise them once the updated results are announced.

Gandhi also clarified that Class 12 marks have a limited role in the admission process. She stated that the marks are primarily required to confirm that a candidate has passed Class 12 and are considered only in tie-break situations.

According to the CBSE, revised results have already been declared for around 87 per cent of Class 12 students who applied for verification of marks or re-evaluation.

A senior Education Ministry official had earlier stated that revised results had been announced for nearly 1.47 lakh of the 1.68 lakh students who sought verification or re-evaluation, while the remaining results involving approximately 20,000 students are expected to be declared in the coming days.

The university on Friday announced the opening of Phase I registrations under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG) for admissions to undergraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic session.

Candidates who appeared for CUET (UG) 2026 and seek admission to Delhi University colleges can register on the CSAS portal using their CUET application number.

Admissions to 73 undergraduate programmes and more than 100 BA programme combinations across 67 colleges will be conducted solely on the basis of CUET (UG) 2026 scores, subject to programme-specific eligibility requirements.

During the second phase of the admission process, candidates will be required to map the subjects studied in Class 12 with the subjects appeared for in CUET before submitting their programme and college preferences. The university said the schedule for Phase II will be announced separately.
