New Delhi, July 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore will open its first-ever international campus in Indonesia’s Singhasari Special Economic Zone, marking a major step in educational cooperation between India and Indonesia.

The new campus will offer five key academic programmes and is expected to benefit students from Indonesia as well as other ASEAN countries. The initiative aims to strengthen partnerships in higher education, research, innovation, and skill development across the region.

The announcement reflects India’s growing global education presence. It follows the successful expansion of leading Indian institutions, including Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in Dubai, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in Abu Dhabi, and Indian Institute of Technology Madras in Zanzibar.

Officials said the new campus will deepen academic ties between India and Indonesia while creating more opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty through international collaboration.
