New Delhi, Aug. 3: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday termed the acquittal of former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh as “unfortunate”, reacting to the court’s verdict in the case filed by women wrestlers.
In a statement following the judgment, Kejriwal expressed disappointment over the verdict, saying it was unfortunate in light of the allegations raised by the women wrestlers.
The case had drawn nationwide attention after several wrestlers accused the former Wrestling Federation of India chief of sexual harassment, leading to months of protests and legal proceedings.
The court’s verdict has triggered political reactions, with opposition leaders questioning the outcome, while BJP leaders have welcomed the decision.
The judgment marks a significant development in one of the country’s most high-profile legal cases involving Indian sports.
