Chandigarh, Oct 1: Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has resigned as president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee following the Congress high command’s decision to change the party’s state leadership.
Warring submitted his resignation after the party leadership initiated the process of appointing a new state Congress chief. The move comes ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections scheduled for 2027.
Several senior Congress leaders are being discussed for the post, including Vijay Inder Singla, Pargat Singh and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. The final decision on Warring’s successor is expected to be taken by the party high command.
