Ludhiana, October 2: Paddy procurement began across mandis in Ludhiana district on Thursday, but arrivals remained limited on the first day of the procurement season.
Officials said the pace of arrivals is expected to increase over the coming days as farmers begin bringing their produce to the mandis. Arrangements have been made at the procurement centres to facilitate the process and ensure the procurement of paddy.
