Beirut, Lebanon: At least 31 people were killed and around 40 others injured after Israeli airstrikes hit several towns and villages across southern Lebanon on Wednesday, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.
The attacks reportedly targeted multiple areas near the border region, causing heavy damage and panic among residents. Rescue teams and ambulances rushed to the affected locations as smoke rose from damaged buildings.
Officials in Lebanon said many civilians were among the victims, while hospitals in the south received a large number of injured people.The latest strikes have increased fears of wider conflict in the region as tensions between Israel and armed groups along the Lebanon border continue to rise.
International leaders have once again called for restraint and an immediate end to violence to prevent further loss of life.
