Bandipora, Aug 5: The rescue operations carried out during the recent cloudburst in Bandipora saw significant efforts by the police, with DO Sumlar, Yasfer Wani, and his team rescuing around 80 people from flood-affected areas in Surrinder and adjoining villages.
According to available information, Mr. Yasfer Wani remained engaged in the rescue operations throughout the night, coordinating with police personnel to evacuate stranded residents and shift them to safer locations as heavy rains and flash floods affected several areas.
The police team conducted evacuation and relief operations in vulnerable locations, assisting residents trapped by floodwaters and ensuring their safe movement. The operation formed part of the broader emergency response undertaken by the district administration and various rescue agencies following the cloudburst.
