Tehran, Aug. 3: Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei on Sunday said Tehran is not currently engaged in any direct talks with the United States, dismissing reports of ongoing bilateral negotiations
.Baghaei said the only discussions underway are being conducted through Oman and are focused on issues related to the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes.
His remarks come amid continued regional tensions and speculation over possible diplomatic contacts between Tehran and Washington. Oman has frequently acted as a mediator between the two countries on regional and security issues.
The latest statement indicates that while communication channels remain open through mediation, no direct negotiations are currently taking place between Iran and the United States.
