Mumbai, India, July 2: Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is set to return to theatre after nearly 25 years with the stage production Naqaab.
Speaking about his comeback in a press note, Siddiqui said theatre was where he discovered himself as an actor and learned the values of honesty, patience and the confidence to perform before a live audience.”Returning to the stage after nearly 25 years feels like coming home,” he said.
The actor said the production holds special significance as he will share the stage with his daughter, who is beginning her acting journey.”What makes this journey even more emotional is that I will be sharing the stage with my daughter as she begins her own acting journey. As a father, there couldn’t be a prouder moment. I only hope the audience embraces her with the same love and generosity they have always shown me,” he said.
Describing Naqaab as a story of suspense, humour and surprises, Siddiqui said he looks forward to reconnecting with audiences through live theatre.
Naqaab has been written and directed by Paritosh Painter.
