US Rejects Iran’s Five Demands, Hormuz Tensions Persist

latest NewsUS Rejects Iran’s Five Demands, Hormuz Tensions Persist

Washington/Tehran: The United States has rejected five key demands put forward by Iran, including Tehran’s call for war reparations. Although both sides agreed to a ceasefire last month, tensions continue to rise in the region, especially around the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

Sources said Iran demanded compensation for war damages, security guarantees, and greater control over regional waters. However, Washington refused to accept the conditions, particularly the demand for reparations.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a major concern as a large portion of the world’s oil supply passes through the narrow waterway. Recent developments in the Gulf have increased fears of renewed conflict and disruption to global trade.

Diplomatic efforts are continuing, but analysts warn that the situation remains fragile despite the ceasefire agreement.
