New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday described the ongoing conflict in West Asia as “one of the biggest crises of this decade” and said India would overcome the challenges arising from it just as the country successfully dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Addressing a public gathering, the Prime Minister said the war has affected global economies, disrupted supply chains, and increased pressure on several countries, including India. He urged citizens to adopt responsible consumption habits, save fuel, reduce dependence on imports, and promote locally manufactured products.“If COVID-19 was the biggest crisis of this century, then the situation created by the war in West Asia is one of the major crises of this decade.
