Baramulla, Jammu & Kashmir: Asiya Iqbal, JKECC President Women’s Wing District Baramulla and renowned social worker, has expressed profound grief, shock, and anguish over the tragic drowning of three young boys in the river Jhelum at Hajin area of Bandipora.The deceased — Adil Ahmad Dar, Sameer Ahmad Dar, and Sohail Ahmad Dar, all residents of Chandergeer reportedly lost their lives while washing tent material near the riverbank. The devastating incident has plunged the entire region into mourning and left countless hearts shattered across Kashmir.Describing the tragedy as “heartbreaking beyond words,” Asiya Iqbal stated that the loss of three innocent young lives together is not merely a personal tragedy for their families, but a collective pain felt by the whole society.“The cries of grieving mothers, the shattered hopes of their families, and the silence left behind by these young boys will continue to haunt every sensitive soul. No words are enough to comfort parents who have lost their children in such a painful and tragic manner,” she said.She extended her deepest condolences and solidarity to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. “May Almighty Allah grant the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous to the deceased and bless their families with strength, patience, and courage to endure this unbearable loss,” she added.Asiya Iqbal also made a heartfelt appeal to the Jammu & Kashmir administration to immediately provide adequate financial assistance, relief, and long-term support to the affected families during this difficult time. She further urged the concerned authorities to strengthen safety measures and monitoring around vulnerable riverbank areas to prevent such heartbreaking incidents in the future.“This is not a moment for formal statements alone. These grieving families deserve compassion, immediate support, and collective humanity. As a society, we must stand beside them in their darkest hour,” she stated.She concluded by urging people across Kashmir to keep the departed souls and their families in their prayers.
