Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, May 13: Authorities in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Tuesday launched demolition action against properties linked to AIMIM corporator Mateen Patel following allegations that Nashik TCS case accused Nida Khan had taken shelter there.
Civic officials said the structures were found to be allegedly unauthorized during an investigation conducted by the municipal corporation. Demolition notices were subsequently issued before bulldozer action was initiated in the Naregaon area.
The controversy escalated after police claimed that Nida Khan, a key accused in the high-profile Nashik TCS case, was hiding at a property associated with the corporator prior to her arrest.
Mateen Patel has approached the Bombay High Court’s Aurangabad bench challenging the demolition notices and seeking relief against further action. During the hearing, municipal authorities maintained that the constructions violated civic regulations.
The development has sparked political reactions across Maharashtra, with opposition parties questioning the timing and nature of the demolition drive amid the ongoing investigation into the Nashik TCS case.
