New Delhi, June 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become India’s longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister, surpassing the record of Jawaharlal Nehru.Modi achieved the milestone on June 10 after completing 4,399 consecutive days in office since taking oath for the first time on May 26, 2014.
He has now overtaken Nehru’s elected tenure of 4,398 days.The achievement marks a historic moment in India’s democratic journey. Modi’s uninterrupted tenure includes three consecutive terms as Prime Minister and more than 12 years of continuous leadership at the Centre.
Political leaders and well-wishers from India and abroad have congratulated Modi on reaching the landmark, describing it as a significant chapter in the country’s democratic history.
